About this site

Pugsley Wiki is an independent owner's reference and archive for the Surly Pugsley. It brings together design history, published frame geometry, and original documents to help people understand their bikes and find the right references.

The collection includes an interview with designer Dave Gray, selected Surly catalogs, preserved product pages, and illustrated crank manuals. Start with the original design, compare frame geometry, or browse the archive.

The archive is part of the site itself: full collected documents and preserved pages remain available alongside the guides. Collection pages identify gaps and incomplete captures; the archive does not yet cover every Pugsley version or year.

This is an owner-maintained enthusiast site, not an official Surly publication. The name “Wiki” describes the reference collection; the site does not currently offer open community editing.

Editorial note

Summaries identify their sources and the versions or periods they describe. Archived documents are kept separate from editorial writing, with qualifications beside the claims they affect. A catalog specification may differ from the parts installed on an individual bike.

Earlier component guides and model-year summaries were withdrawn because their claims lacked adequate support. New technical guidance needs documentation for the specific frame, fork, and components involved.
